Reusable Festival Dining Set

My project is focused on catering at festivals, specifically addressing the lack of seating and the generation of large amounts of plastic waste at these events. The result of my idea is a reusable dining set consisting of a multifunctional tray and cutlery, which increases the comfort of customers and significantly reduces the amount of disposable plastics.

The uniqueness of the concept lies in the design of the tray, which uses the principle of a painting palette, thanks to which the customer can consume both food and drink while standing, with the help of only one hand, as well as traditionally at a table while sitting. The tray effectively connects the food container, the drinking holder and the ergonomically placed control, protection and strength elements. The tray is stylishly complemented by cutlery, consisting of a fork and spoon, which by its shape ensures a firm and comfortable grip and can also be used for slicing in addition to its traditional functions.

It is easy to use – the customer orders food or drink, while paying a refundable deposit for the set. He pushes his thumb through the hole in the middle of the tray and the index finger, or other fingers, supports the food container, which guarantees stability. It is constantly preserved even after removing the crucible. Once finished with food, the customer returns the set and receives his deposit back.

The whole set is designed from solid food grade polypropylene with a greater thickness, which guarantees the possibility of reuse, and thus the reduction of plastic waste. At the end of its service life, thanks to the high-quality material and neutral colour, the product can be easily recycled and used in other plastic products.
