It is a reusable straw, whether for lemonade or drinks. The charm of this gift from the Czech Republic lies in its shape. It is a stylized shape of the Vltava River flowing through Prague.
For the sake of easy understanding of this design, the sales packaging is also an integral part. It depicts the Prague metro lines. This makes it obvious that the shape of the straw is meant to represent the Vltava River flowing through Prague.
It is designed in anodised aluminium alloy, which is suitable for food applications, dishwasher safe, fully recyclable and finally lightweight and inexpensive. Production would be by bending.
To properly understand the concept, the straw needs to be sold in packaging that puts it in the context of Prague. From the many variations, I chose the stylized routes of the Prague metro, as they are typical of Prague in their shape and colors. At the same time, the print graphic is light and attracts attention, but does not overpower the product being sold.
The straw is fixed in the packaging with two flaps at the top and bottom and one eye in the middle. The product is thus safely and elegantly secured against movement without the use of adhesives or other materials.
I chose a coarser recycled cardboard as the packaging material, which further enhances the ecological aspect of the reusable straw.
